Casa Alegría, located in Zicatela, Oaxaca, is a vacation rental designed to harmonize with its vibrant coastal environment. Nestled near the renowned La Punta de Zicatela beach, famous for its world-class surfing waves, the residence embodies a Mediterranean architectural style. This design choice aims to create a relaxed, beach-inspired atmosphere that connects deeply with the local natural and cultural landscape. The house features a seamless blend of indoor and outdoor spaces, with an emphasis on openness and integration.

The architectural layout spans three levels, each serving distinct functions while promoting fluid movement and interaction. The ground floor includes a central kitchen and dining area, complemented by indoor and outdoor pools surrounded by a desert flora garden. The first floor boasts a large terrace and three secondary rooms with ocean views. The top floor is dedicated to the master bedroom, which includes a double-height palapa roof for thermal comfort and a large terrace with a jacuzzi and dining area, providing expansive views of the beach.

Casa Alegría stands out for its sustainable design and material choices. The use of local and reclaimed wood, alongside energy-efficient systems like solar panels, minimizes environmental impact. The project has also positively influenced the community, encouraging neighbors to enhance their homes and elevate the area's overall architectural quality. This transformation reflects Casa Alegría's role in fostering both a sense of place and community development.
