Horror's Hallowed Grounds: Episode 4 — Halloween II (1981). After the release of the Never Sleep Again documentary HHG started to get a buzz again. But without an actual home what would we be making new episodes for? They would likely end up like the TCM episode never to be seen. At the time we didn't want to just put them up on You Tube in case we did get some sort of deal for an actual TV show we could possibly use or back catalog and there was quite a bit of interest too but nothing that ever panned out. So almost two years passed before I got a phone call that really changed everything. My friend Michael Felsher of Red Shirt Pictures called me up and said he was working on bonus features for new Blu-Ray editions of both Halloween II and Halloween III: Season of the Witch and would I be interested in doing Horror's Hallowed Grounds for those. It would be for a new horror division of Shout Factory called Scream Factory. Those are two of my all time favorite films so I said, HELL YES!!! So, June 25th, 2012 Buz and I started filming both episodes concurrently. Andrew cut them together and we turned in two episodes we were really proud of and excited for the fans to see. Michael watched them and he loved them. Things couldn't get better.. until they got worse. When Michael pitched the HHG idea to Scream Factory I don't think they knew EXACTLY what they were getting. They had issues with some of our content and a major tug of war started between them and I. It got a little ugly there for a minute and I was ready to walk from the whole thing. We made some cuts on both episodes and they reluctantly agreed to release them. However it was clear that would be the last time they dealt with me... That is until the reviews started coming out and the fans spoke up. HHG was a favorite across the board. The positive response to HHG suddenly changed attitudes and they were willing to let us do more. Not without more issues mind you but to be fair for the most part they have really let us get away with A LOT. I am very grateful to Jeff Nelson and Cliff MacMillan for the opportunity they have given us. They eventually even allowed us to handle all the bonus content for future releases and we did so under the banner Viddy Well Films.
