“After 4 years of continuous shooting, when I heard, “IT’S A WRAP,” I could feel tears rolling down my eyes. I immediately called my wife and said, ‘Hogaya shooting.’ And she laughed and said, ‘Ghar aao paranthe bannati hu.’ I felt like I had won a battle, but little did I know that the war had just begun!”

Like every other Indian, even Sohum Shah grew up watching Shah Rukh Khan play his mandolin in the sarso ke khet and Amitabh Bachchan breaking the box office with just his walk.

But while his eyes dreamt of the silver screen, his fate had responsibilities written all over it. Coming from a family of 7, with a meagre monthly income of Rs.3000, Sohum Shah understood the importance of money very early on in life. He began working at 15 and left no leaf unturned for the next 10 years. And while one by one, he fulfilled all his responsibilities, that one unfulfilled dream made him feel– “Why am I not happy?”

And with a bag filled with questions, he came to Mumbai, a city with all the answers. But did he find those answers, or did he just drown in the depths of this city ... Was the Ganganagar boy successful in making his space in the illusions of Mumbai Sagar?
