The 2023 bowhunting season is just about over but we're back in the mountains for one last chance to put some venison in the freezer. Late season deer hunting with a self bow or recurve bow can be challenging, especially when the winter weather never arrives to start the deer migration. Nevertheless, we caught up with some of the resident deer and I made a good shot on a fat doe with my osage selfbow while hunting public land. With the light fading and the temperature dropping, I took a tenderloin out, built a fire and cooked the deer meat right in the coals. It was fantastic. I hope you enjoy the latest catch and cook video.
