#9/14 JLPT4 Grammar
1. ・〜ので
2. ・〜のに

1. 〜ので
[意味]理由・原因を言うbecause〜、〜"ので" sounds more formal than "から"

[接続]普通形 + ので
N + なので

頭が痛いので、今日は休みます。
I have a headache, so I'm taking the day off.

私はベジタリアンなので、肉は食べません。
I am a vegetarian, so I don't eat meat.

今 勉強しているので、静かにしてください。
I am studying now, so please be quiet.

暑いので、エアコンをつけてもいいですか。
It's hot, may I turn on the air conditioner?



2. 〜のに

[意味]〜けれど
Even though ~,
[接続]V（普通形） + のにイAい + のにナA + なのにN +　なのに


薬を飲んだのに、全然よくなりません。
　I took medicine but I am not getting any better.

このレストランは高いのに、おいしくないです。
This restaurant is expensive but not good.

彼はハンサムで有名なのに、安くてせまいアパートにすんでいます。
He is handsome and famous, but he lives in a cheap and small apartment.

ジョンさんは学生なのに、お金をたくさん持っています。
John is a student, but he has a lot of money.




3. 〜のは〜です

[意味]強調構文。Emphatic construction内容を強く言いたい時に使う表現。"It is 〜 that 〜. / The reason 〜 is because 〜"
[接続]V(普通形) +　のはイA + のはナAな + のは
N + なのは


学生が勉強するのはあたりまえです。
It is natural for students to study.

佐藤さんがパーティーへ行ったのは 先週の日曜日です。
The day Mr. Sato went to the party was last Sunday.

今 一番問題なのは、日本円がとても安いということです。
The biggest problem now is that the Japanese yen is very cheap.

クラスで一番 おもしろいのは、山田さんです。
The most interesting person in the class is Mr. Yamada.

クラスで一番 有名なのは、田中さんです。
The most famous person in the class is Ms. Tanaka.





4. 〜は〜が、〜は（対比）

[意味]２つの物や事柄を対比して言う時に助詞「は」が使われる。When contrasting two objects or matters, the particle 'は' is used.

ビールは好きですが、ワインはすきじゃないです。
　 I like beer, but not wine.

日本語は分かりますが、中国語は分かりません。
I understand Japanese, but do not understand Chinese.



5. 〜ばかり

[意味]同じ物がたくさんある、同じことを何度もするという意味を表す。 マイナスの意味で使われることが多い。It refers to having a lot of the same thing, or doing the same thing repeatedly. It's often used in a negative sense.

[接続]V（て形） + ばかりN + ばかり


あそんでばかりじゃなくて、勉強しなさい。
　 Don't just play, please study.

食べてばかりだと、太りますよ。
If you eat too much, you will get fat.

部長はいつも怒ってばかりでこわいよね。
The director is scary as he always angry.

あの子はいつもうそばかりついていて、みんなから嫌われている
That kid lies all the time and everyone hates him.
