ITR Late Fees Payment Process | बिना Late Fees के ITR File करने पर आयेगा Demand Notice

The deadline to file an income tax
return (ITR) for FY 2023-24 (AY 2024-
25) is July 31, 2024. It is advisable to
file your ITR before the due date, that
is, July 31, 2024. However, if for some
reason you do not manage to file your
ITR before the deadline of July 31,
2024, then you can file your ITR by 31st December 2024 after paying Late fee u/s 234F

If you miss the deadline to file ITR for
FY 2023-24 (AY 2024-25), then you
have an option to file belated ITR. The
due date of filing belated ITR is
December 31, 2024, for FY 2023-24 (AY 2024-25), unless extended by the
government. If the ITR is filed after
the due date (July 31) and on or before December 31, 2024, then a late filing fee will be levied.

"As per the Indian income tax laws,
losses under any head of income
(other than income from house
property), can be carried forward only
if the tax return is filed within the due
date, i.e., July 31 of the relevant AY
(unless extended by the
government). However, taxpayers can
carry forward the loss under the
income from house property, even
the tax return is filed after the due
date.
