Lamplighters is an all-university student theatre club at NYU dedicated to producing Theatre for Young Audiences (TYA) for the NYC community! We push the boundaries, addressing stigma around children’s theatre with high production quality through popular shows that bear a significance in today’s world. Previous shows have included JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH to LEGALLY BLONDE: THE MUSICAL.

Each spring, we aim to address the arts education accessibility gap, and pair NYU students and NYC youth together to receive a FREE opportunity to to work on a show through our Musical Theatre Collective.

Students of any age that attend NYU, regardless of school, are eligible to be part of our shows. Additionally, we are committed to creating diverse and intentional companies. We make a concerted effort to reach out to and invite traditionally marginalized artists to come see, audition or interview for our shows. We encourage artists of all colors, gender and sexual identities, neurodiverse artists and artists of all abilities to take part in our shows.
