👉 AMBERNATH Shiv Mandir 🙏📿🕉️

It is also known as the Ambreshwar Shiva Temple, and known locally as Puratana Shivalaya. It is situated on the bank of [vrindawan] (Waldhuni) river, 2 km away from Ambarnath railway station (East). The temple was built in 1060 AD beautifully carved in stone.

Ambernath is famous the ancient and most famous Lord Shiva temple. The place is visited by millions of Devotees of Lord Siva. Known for its beauty and magnificence.

The Ambernath Temple in Maharashtra is dedicated to Lord Shiva. According to an it was probably built by SHILAHARA KING CHHITTARAJA in 1060 AD. The local residents there consider this temple to be of Pandava period. This temple is a vivid example of ancient Hindu sculpture. It is said about the Ambernath Shiva temple built in the middle of the eleventh century that there is no other temple like it anywhere else in the world.

This temple has 20 steps leading down to the main room called Gabhara; And there is a Shivling in the center of the room. On the occasion of Mahashivratri a big fair is held in Ambernath to seek blessings from Lord Shiva. There are two Nandi outside this temple. The main idol of the temple is the trimastiki, with a woman on its knee, which represents the form of Shiva-Parvati. The temple built on the BANK OF VADAVAN (WALDUNI) river is surrounded by tamarind and mango trees. The architecture of the temple is of high quality. An ancient inscription of the year 1060 AD has also been found here. You can also visit the match factories in this city.

A grand fair is organized on the occasion of Maha Shivratri which is visited by thousands of devotees. The Maha Shivratri fair lasts for 3-4 days. On the day of Maha Shivratri, the eastern side of Ambernath gets blocked for vehicles due to heavy influx of pilgrims. The temple becomes overcrowded during the month of Shravan.

The temple remains open for darshan throughout the day. A huge fair is organized here on the occasion of Shivratri in the month of Magha.

This temple has been rebuilt but legend has it that it was built by the Pandavas from a single stone.

HOW TO REACH
Shiva mandir in Ambernath is located just 2km away from the city.
Ambernath have good connectivity by road. Many state transport buses are available to reach Ambernath from Kalyan, Thane, Badlapur & Karjat. Thane is major city to reach Shiv Mandir Ambernath. From thane, badlapur or Karjat tourist can reach ambernath by bus auto or private vehicles.
Ambernath is a central railway station & connected by local trains from Mumbai , Dadar and Thane.Tourists from outside mumbai or maharashtra can reach mumbai or thane by express trains and reach ambernath by local trains.
The Shiv Mandir is located just 2 minutes away from the Ambernath Station.
