Today, I bring y'all Paul's first solo song he recorded after a year he retired from performing and being a member of The Temptations.

In mid 1971, Paul was advised by the doctor to retire because they found a spot in his liver, plus his health was declining due to his Sickle Cell diease. Paul took the advice and retired from performing and being a Temptation to get better. Next year, Paul's health improved and he wanted to make a comeback as a solo artist. His childhood friend, Eddie Kendricks had written a song for a group that recorded it earlier on and, then wanted Paul to sing it and the song was titled as "Feel Like Givin' Up." It became his first recording since he was in the group for their "Sky's The Limit" album the previous year. Paul gave it his all on this song. You could feel the emotion, pain, hurt, and soaring in his voice with passion and soul. Unfortunately, Motown shelved it until years after his death on the Temptations solo years album that featured David Ruffin, Eddie Kendricks, Dennis Edwards, and Paul Williams himself.

I strongly believe this would've easily put Paul on the map and back out there. Paul would've had a wonderful solo career if he wasn't taking away from us so soon. We love and miss you, Paul. As always, Temptations Forever ❤️.
