It really doesn't get much better than Vietnamese food. From the famous Pho to the underrated Banh Xeo, we love it all! This is the second to last episode from our Saigon series that we filmed quite a few weeks back before all the pandemic business broke out. We hope you enjoy it!

For the first meal we dive right into the goodness at Vi Saigon. Amazing spring rolls with grilled meat and fresh vermicelli (a dish called bun thit nuong) at a Vietnamese restaurant with friendly locals.

Vi Saigon
Address: 41 Đường Trần Nhật Duật, Tân Định, Quận 1, Hồ Chí Minh, Vietnam
Hours: Monday - Saturday 7am–8:30pm, Sunday 8am–8:30pm

Next up we went on the hunt for some southern Vietnam style Banh Xeo. Bánh xèo are "sizzling pancakes", they're also known as Vietnamese crepes. Banh Xeo aren't quite as well known as other popular Vietnamese dishes, but they're definitely worth a taste when visiting Vietnam.

Bánh xèo Bánh khọt giòn ngon
Address: 335/11 Điện Biên Phủ, Phường 4, Quận 3, Hồ Chí Minh, Vietnam
Hours: Monday - Sunday 3–10pm

You cannot go to Vietnam without eating a bunch of Banh Mi's and word on the street is that one of the best local joints to eat this beautiful roll is Bánh Mì Hồng Hoa.

Bánh Mì Hồng Hoa
Address: 54 Nguyễn Văn Tráng, Phường Phạm Ngũ Lão, Quận 1, Hồ Chí Minh, Vietnam
Hours: Monday - Sunday 5:30am–9:30pm

Pho is probably the most well known Vietnamese dish around. We heard that Pho in southern Vietnam is apparently more flavourful than northern and central pho. We dunno about the accuracy of this statement but we had to find out for ourselves.

Phở Hòa Pasteur
Address: 260C Pasteur, Phường 8, Quận 3, Hồ Chí Minh 700000, Vietnam
Hours: Monday - Sunday 6am–12am

When you're in Vietnam, you absolutely have to try Vietnamese coffee. Even if you're not a big coffee drinker (like Peter), you're almost guaranteed to like Vietnamese coffee. We found a pretty cafe near our accommodation called Khóm Coffee & Tea to stop for a quick drink.

Khóm Coffee & Tea
Address: 5 Trần Quý Khoách, Tân Định, Quận 1, Hồ Chí Minh, Vietnam
Hours: Monday - Sunday 7am–10pm

Another one of our local favourites where we ended up many nights for a delicious homely meal serving Com Tam (broken rice) was Quán Cơm Tấm 90. This home-restaurant's owners were super friendly and always made us feel welcomed despite our language barrier.

Quán Cơm Tấm 90
Address: 429 Hoàng Sa, Phường 8, Quận 3, Hồ Chí Minh, Vietnam
Hours: Monday - Sunday 11am–11pm
