Allodesmus demerai is an extinct species of pinniped, commonly known as the "hooked-toothed seal." It lived during the Miocene epoch, approximately 10 to 5 million years ago.
This species was characterized by its large size, with some individuals reaching lengths of up to 3 meters.
Its most distinctive feature was its long, curved canine teeth, which likely played a role in capturing and holding onto prey. It was a carnivorous marine mammal, likely preying on fish and other marine animals.
A. demerai is known from fossil remains found in various locations along the Pacific coast of North America, particularly in California and Oregon.
