Take A Sneak Peek Into How We Celebrate Hanukkah In Our Orthodox Jewish Home Donut Sufganiyot Recipe Holiday Decorate With Me

One of our families favorite Jewish holidays is Channukkah. It’s such a beautiful time to celebrate with family and friends. Of course there are delectable Treats involved.

Happy Hanukkah from our family to yours!




Sourdough Donuts:
500gm Bread Flour
100g Active Starter
60g Sugar
10g Salt
100g Eggs (2 Eggs)
220g Milk
100g Butter
Add starter, milk and eggs to mixer
Add sugar and turn on the mixer on low speed
Add flour and salt
When a dough forms, add room temperature butter
Knead until all butter is incorporated into dough
Continue kneading until it starts to clean the bowl or starts pulling at the scraper about 15 minutes
Turn out dough onto work surface
Slap and fold a few times until dough can pass the window pane test
Place in oiled container and refrigerate overnight
In the morning prepare donut balls of 50gm each
Cover and let proof for 8 hours
Fry

Donuts:
2 whole eggs
2 Egg yolks
4 tbsp Sugar
Pinch of salt
2.5 tsp of rapid rise yeast
1/2 Cup Warm Milk
3 Cups + 2 tbsp bread flour
2 tbsp softened butter

Mix for 10-15 minutes
