Stuff I’ve learned over 9 years hanging every night, especially the last few months thru-hiking the Pacific Crest Trail. Shot in the high Sierra.

Hammock is a Warbonnet Blackbird XLC with Wooki underquilt and Diamondback topquilt, both 20°F-rated. With the Warbonnet underquilt protector (that also works as a gear sling) have stayed warm to 15°F in low/no-wind conditions above 11,000’ (Mather Pass).

I have not slept outside of my hammock on this whole trip, including the 700 miles of tree-sparse desert, thanks to Tensa Trekking Treez, trekking poles that convert to a hammock stand as needed. I’m half the company.
