This episode is dedicated to the memory of our dear family friend Judy Martin, whose own ability to play the piano was above all others. She was on our mind this week as we listened to and studied the piano technique of the another great player, Art Tatum.
Excited to also have a very special guest appearance from Dave G. in Toledo Ohio at the site of the Art Tatum statue. FYI Toledo is the birthplace of the great Art Tatum.

This week’s album contains all existing music from the legendary pairing of Art Tatum and Ben Webster. Considered one of the best jazz albums ever, this was to be Tatum's last visit to a recording studio, for he died less than two months after these tracks were recorded. A complete quartet session by Webster with another celebrated pianist, Teddy Wilson, and a beautiful Tatum solo piano rendering of our opening song have been added as a bonus.
