Fishing in the Atlantic is getting harder and harder due to the extreme shark problem that now exists, especially since it became illegal to kill any sharks. As is often the case, the over-protection of one animal leads to a very negative impact on others within the ecosystem.

Shark Depredation has gotten so bad off of North Carolina that, often times, over 90% of your tuna catch is eaten before it even reaches the boat, further making an argument that tuna quotas are useless if the sharks are plummeting the species.

In this video, we discuss the predation problem with one of the most knowledgeable fishing experts in all of North Carolina, Jimmy Hillsman of Ocean's East Bait and Tackle out of Nags Head NC.
