On December 9, 1956, Trans-Canada flight 810 departed from Vancouver with 62 souls on board. It's destination was Calgary. It never arrived. In May 1957, wreckage of the aircraft was finally located on Mount Slesse. Due to the inaccessibility of the area, the wreckage and remains of the victims remain on the mountain.
The Slesse Memorial Trail leads to a memorial, with views of Slesse Mountain, and then continues up to a rock cairn with fragments of the aircraft and memorials left by families of the victims.

I did this hike Tuesday, August 6, 2024.
