The Hills is a beautiful, tree-filled region of Sydney that’s been booming in population for decades. But there’s one thing that the Hills has long suffered from. A chronic lack of public transport. For decades, the Hills was a public transport desert, with next to no heavy rail access; all it had was a series of bus rapid transit routes linking the area to Parramatta, Blacktown and Sydney CBD. But this was never enough for the booming area; in 2019, the area finally got a heavy rail line in the form of the Sydney Metro Northwest.
Why wasn't bus rapid transit enough? In this video, I'll answer that very question.
