An unofficial roadrun was held through the streets of Leicester for various classic Leicestershire buses mostly privately owned but some in the care of the Leicester Heritage Transport Trust. The roadrun was held partly for the benefit of the buses themselves which had seen very little action recently but also as a pre-advert for the Quorn Bus & Train
Spectacular to be held at the Great Central Railway next month. No passengers were on board.

The parade of buses through the city began on the A6 in the north before running through St Georges Way past the Railway Station on London Road on route to the old tram depot in Stoneygate. The buses then returned along Aylestone Road before making their way back to Oxford Street, Vaughan Way and back up the A6. By way of comparison there are some current service buses featured in the second part of the film with the main operators First, Arriva, Kinch and Stagecoach featured but not Centrebus.
For those that know Leicester the heritage buses are filmed on Abbey Park Road and returning St Margarets Way.

What a fantastic sight the buses made passing through the streets of the city and turning quite a few heads in the process. I hope the event proved a great success for the organisers and gives us all something to look forward to next month when hopefully all these buses will be at Quorn for us all to see and maybe take a trip or two.
