Mannarkkad, formerly Mannarghat, is a small town in Palakkad town noted for the wildlife and tribal colonies in the nearby forest areas. It is the village in Kerala lying close to the Western Ghats. With two rivers viz. Kunthippuzha and Nellippuzha flowing through the region, the natural beauty of Mannarkkad is further enhanced by the hills of Attappadi, which has one of the sizeable tribal settlements in Kerala.
It was a Saturday I decided to go to Mannarkkad, a one day trip to some famous locations. Visited Kanjirappuzha Dam, Thathengalam Mini Beach, Udayarkunnu Temple where the famous Mannarkkad Pooram happens and Pathrakadavu (Virgin Valley).
