This is our story of surviving Hurricane Beryl on our sailboat. In this episode, we find ourselves preparing for Hurricane Beryl, which has shifted its path towards Grenada, bringing with it the threat of Category 4 winds, rain, and storm surge. The anxiety is palpable as we and our cruising friends scramble to secure our boats and make crucial decisions to ensure our safety.

On July 1st, Hurricane Beryl, a Category 4 storm, devastated northern Grenada and its sister islands of Carriacou and Petite Martinique. Not a single building was left untouched and infrastructure was destroyed. Spice Island Marine and the sailing creator community have joined forces to aid in the rebuilding efforts of these beautiful islands. This joint initiative aims to raise funds for tools, building supplies, and other necessary items to rebuild small businesses that were completely destroyed. Without these businesses, many have lost their livelihood and the local community cannot get back on their feet.
