Hezbollah said on October 13 it was fighting Israeli forces trying to infiltrate Ramia village in southern Lebanon, Reuters reported. It claimed to have detonated explosive devices at Israeli soldiers and "clashed with them as they attempted to infiltrate" twice near Ramia. The Israel Defense Force (IDF) said Hezbollah had fired nearly 320 projectiles from Lebanon into Israel on October 12. The Israeli air force "struck approximately 280 terror targets belonging to both Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in the Gaza Strip," the IDF. Lebanon's health ministry said at least 15 people had been killed in Israeli strikes on three areas considered outside Hezbollah's traditional strongholds. A third UN peacekeeper was wounded in Israel's escalating conflict with the Iran-backed Lebanese group.
