I've had this little drill press vise for about fifteen years now and almost every time I use it I think to myself, 'gotta do something about the handle'. The thought was to just make the holes in the handle bigger and run some steel rod through, but now that I have a lathe something a little nicer and more useful can be made. I'm still only relatively new to the lathe but this was the first time I used the knurling tool, in the video I only show me turning the chuck by hand but did actually power up and cut the knurl in one pass.


This was completed on Saturday afternoon (Easter Saturday) and the video editing was finished on the following Tuesday. So about five hours to make the thing, including shooting video and about six hours editing.
