Interview with playwright Petr Zelenka just before a staged reading in English of his play Fifty on Monday 20th November 2023 at The Coronet, Bar, London.

Petr Zelenka is a leading Czech playwright, screenwriter and director of both theatre and film. His work contain themes of absurdity, black humour and coincidence in real world settings. He has gathered a variety of awards for his plays and films, for both directing and scriptwriting. He is the director of films such as Buttoners and Lost in Munich. His career as a playwright started in 2001 with Tales of Common Insanity, which was later adapted into a film with the same name. He has written a number of plays, including Dabing Street, which was later adapted into a series produced by Czech Television.
