As Tris is taken to be executed, her mother (Ashley Judd) saves her and reveals that she was once Dauntless. As they make their way out, Natalie (Ashley Judd) is shot. Shortly after, Tris, her father (Tony Goldwyn ), brother (Ansel Elgort), and Marcus (Ray Stevenson) attempt to infiltrate Dauntless headquarters. Tris realizes that Peter (Miles Teller) is not affected by the serum and forces him to guide them to the Erudite's base of operations. Her father sacrifices himself in the process.
