Today we take a closer look at the Nivada Grenchen F77 Swiss watch. This is a modern interpretation of a model that the brand introduced back in 1977. The design and dimensions of the model have been retained, but the watch boasts modern materials and movement.
At first glance, the case catches the eye, with an octagonal fixed bezel that houses the admitted screws. The case and bezel boast a polished finish combined with a very fine and regular brushing. The same brushing can be found on the top of the bracelet. The individual parts are precision crafted and the tolerances are very small.
The main attraction of the watch is the textured dial, which can conjure up colours ranging from deep black to grey under different light intensities. The text printing is clean and regular, free of dust. The applied logo is also very clean. The indices have a polished finish and here and there an imperfection in the form of a grain of dust is visible. Likewise, the polished hands show some imperfection at times. An interesting feature is the inner groove on the hands, which is filled with black paint. It should be added that all imperfections are only visible under the lens of a microscope and strong illumination. Even when looking through the camera's macro lens, the watch enthusiast has no chance to see these details.
Overall, I rate the workmanship of the Nivada F77 watch at a high level. The dial and polished indices, along with the domed glass, can conjure up optical magic with varying levels of illumination.
Thank to Helveti.cz for lending the watch for the purpose of this video.
