250,000km update: She's still running!!! My 2010 Holden Commodore VE Series 2 Sportwagon has developed a timing chain issue. But, 70,000km after the first engine warning light, she still runs as good as when we bought it. Go figure. Here I discuss my theory that the tolerances on these sensors are way too tight and are throwing the code for a possible small loosening of the chain. Anyway, apart from this problem, the car is running great and as such, I'm going to keep it and keep running it until it completely dies. It's perfect for a family car that can take a bit of a beating and in reality, there is nothing of similar value that I would swap it out for.
