This is a story about Franz Stigler, a German fighter ace of the Luftwaffe pilot who flew a Messerschmitt Bf 109, and Charlie Brown, a 21-year old American pilot of a Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress named 'Ye Old Pub'.

Their fateful encounter has become synonymous with those singular moments of chivalry experience between enemies at the height of the deadliest war the world has seen. Indeed, it is a poignant lesson about doing the right thing, especially when no-one is watching.

This story is immortalised and expanded upon in the best-selling book "A Higher Call", which can be considered a sort of Biography for Charlie Brown and Franz Stigler, as well as a documented account of their encounter on December 20, 1943. It is an excellent read, and I heartily recommend it to everyone as it is a beautiful tale of the human spirit.

Producing these videos is a hobby of mine. I have a passion for history, and personally own a large collection of books, journals and other texts, and endeavor to do as much research as possible. Sometimes I may need to substitute images/clips for re-enacted scenes. However if there are any mistakes, please don't hesitate to reach out and correct anything :)
