Welcome aboard! Our flight today is taking us from Grand Junction, Colorado to sunny San Diego, California. We depart Grand Junction in the late afternoon, cruise over the Grand Canyon, and arrive in San Diego in time to catch the sunset and beautiful views of Coronado Island and downtown.

Arrival into San Diego will be on the famous (and infamous) Runway 27. This non-precision RNAV approach is well known by pilots who must navigate steep terrain, close proximity to downtown San Diego, variable winds, and a short runway. Add to that, some of the busiest airspace in the United States. In fact, Lindbergh Field is the busiest single-runway airport in the US and listed as the 5th most dangerous airport in the country.

I am using the PMDG 737-700 equipped with short field performance package in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. Livery is Southwest Airlines "California One". Part of a series of state liveries commissioned by Southwest Airlines to signify the carrier's ties with California.
