Ace, ME & Polly the Pug spent the holiday season in Georgia with my family (Amanda). Ace & I needed a little break from the Bird House and my parents converted my old bedroom into a guest room. We were no longer mooch docking. We were just plain ‘ole house guests. Since we were staying for an extended period of time, we decided to get a couple of projects done that we had been thinking about.

If you are familiar with Casita Travel Trailers, you know that space comes at a premium & the kitchen is no exception. I have always had a little issue with the range vent hood, especially when cooking.

The range vent hood that comes standard in Casita travel trailers can be rather noisy. It’s also right in your line of sight when cooking on the stove. Honestly, I never used it very often because I thought the fantastic fan was more effective. With the fan being almost over the middle of the galley, I would turn it on instead of using the vent hood. I would even occasionally hit my head the vent hood when trying to look at the food I was cooking.

Anyways…….I didn’t care for it & we decided to remove it. The removal itself was not difficult. Beautifying the space afterwards took a little bit longer. I could not find a spice rack that would fit behind the sink, but I did find an alternative. The utensil rack mounted to the underside of the cabinet had become very convenient. I’m looking at my bananas hanging from it right now. I’m loving the new kitchen area and how much more open it feels without that darn VENT HOOD.
