In this video, we'll share a little bit about what to expect in the agricultural industry of the durian business.

This is presented specifically to someone who's thinking of starting a durian orchard from a small farmer's perspective (self-employed).

The estimation is based on a 7 acre land, adjusted for inflation in August 2020 and the costing is based on Malaysia.

Also, in this video, we'll speak a little bit about the expectation and risk involved, the startup cost, seasonal cost as well as the revenue and profit of each of these durian season.

We've given a pretty clear drafted estimation of startup cost, revenue/cost/profit per season, and from there we've calculated the years it require for the breakeven period.

At last, we'll also share a little bit of what other things you can expect to manage in a durian business (technical aspects/laws), as well as the recommended mindset from a local farmer's perspective.

By the end of the video, you should have a pretty good idea of what to expect if you want to start a durian orchard.

Everything presented here is our own opinion of what's required to run a successful durian farm, so feel free to agree or disagree down in the comment section below.

If you're actually going to start your own durian business, please do your own research - and know that what's presented were merely the experience of a single local farmer here (based in Pahang, Malaysia), so your actual experience/cashflow may vary a lot.
