The Feast of Epiphany or Theophany is celebrated at Kunnamkulam and surrounding areas by decorating and lighting the trunk of plantain tree using oil wicks. Nowadays electric lamps are also used to decorate the trunk of plantain trees.

At St. Mathias Church Kunnamkulam Kerala this day the Feast celebrated by the Parishioners by decorating their houses with grand lightings. Musical instruments including Kerala's famous drums or 'Chenda Melam' is one of the important items played.

Here 'Chendamelam' is performed by local artists.
