สิ่งหนึ่งที่อยู่คู่กับชีวิตประจำวันของเราอย่างหลีกเลี่ยงไม่ได้ นั่นก็คือตัวเลข

เราต้องตื่นมาตามเวลาที่กำหนดไว้ เดินทางไปทำงานด้วยรถบัสหมายเลขที่จะพาเราไปถึงจุดหมาย ไปถึงโรงเรียนหรือที่ทำงาน ก็จะมีตำแหน่งของห้องทำงานหรือห้องเรียน เป็นเลขชั้น และเลขห้อง

และเราก็อาจจะมี เลขประจำตัวนักเรียน หรือเลขประจำตัวพนักงาน จะจับจ่ายใช้สอยก็ต้องนับเงิน เทียบความคุ้มค่า มีตัวเลขเข้ามาเกี่ยวข้องเสมอ

และจริงๆ แล้ว ตัวเลขมีอายุมากกว่าที่เราคิด ตัวเลขอยู่คู่กับมนุษย์ตั้งแต่ก่อนยุคประวัติศาสตร์เสียอีก วันนี้เราจะมาคุยกันเรื่อง ประวัติศาสตร์อย่างย่อของตัวเลขกันครับ
