You can call Sushi Village’s newest server Bella, if you want. She’s a cutie, a little over four feet tall with feline good looks. She’s stunningly efficient too, able to tote as much as 40 kilograms of food at once to four tables of customers as she glides through the dining room. Bella, it should be said, has no concerns about COVID-19 and doesn’t even wear a mask. Nor does she need to, because Bella, short for BellaBot, is a robot.
Bella is one of several restaurant robots to debut in Ottawa amid staffing shortages.
