This is a kind of funk, disco song from 1981 by Rick James, who was from Buffalo, New York. The song was ‘sampled’ by MC Hammer for his 1991 hit You Can’t Touch This. Hammer settled out of court and James and co-writer Alonzo Miller were given songwriting credits
