For their 2024 September steam gala - held from Friday 13th to Sunday 15th - the Pontypool & Blaenavon Railway brought in a double helping of 'Prairie' tank engines to join their home fleet. These were GWR 4575 Class 2-6-2T No.5552, from the Bodmin & Wenford Railway, and LMS Ivatt 2MT Class 2-6-2T No.41241, from the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway, looking particularly striking in its preservation era lined red livery. With a huge variety of locations on offer (and all within walking distance of the car park!) and some of the steepest gradients in the country, it's always great fun filming on the P&BR.

This video focuses soley on 5552 & 41241 (with the odd cameo from the line's home fleet) as we catch them at various locations on the railway's steeply graded 'main' line between Blaenavon High Level, Furness Sidings and Whistle Inn.

Filmed Saturday 14th September 2024, using a Panasonic HC-X1500 with an Audio-Technica BP4025 microphone.

I hope you enjoy the video. If you did, please like, comment, subscribe, and make sure you check your subscriptions page, so you never miss a video; it really does help a lot! Thanks.
