Myths and wrong concepts:
1) M Vishwesharayya built this dam - WRONG
2) Automatic gates designed by M Vishweshwarayya: WRONG
The similar gates were already existing. He only modified them and obtained patent.
3) Khadakwasla DAM was broken due to bomb blast.. WRONG
No record about bombing is found. The dam failure was due to uplift pressure and thrust of water. The dam was totally submerged.
