Louisbourg is a nice quiet town on the Cape Breton island not too far from Sydney. Having some dramatic events in its history, now it is a cozy community in one of the most beautiful corners of the world. There are signs of coastal life everywhere in Louisbourg, all these red sheds and fishing boats.
Recently it is seeing more prominent tourist traffic thanks to the excursions from a nearby port of call in Sydney. It's definitely worth a day trip if your cruise stops at Sydney.
Louisbourg has a population of about 850 residents and depopulating fast which is rather sad. Fortress of Louisbourg is one of the sightseeing gems of the area, but other then that, Louisbourg is a great place to spend a day or too just relaxing and decompressing.
