On Monday, May 20, 2024, we walked the Kit Carson Trail in Carson City, Nevada. According to the data, it is about 2.4 miles with forty-eight designated stops. We added a few and really enjoyed the tour. Among other stops, names like Louis Prang – The Father of American Christmas Cards and Orion Clemens, the brother of Samuel Clemens known as the author Mark Twain, came up.
Touring the Capital Complex, in the forties, we found two Veteran Memorials, which were really well done.
Having spent about three hours on the tour, none of the sites appeared to be open for inside touring, we called it complete and moved on.
Well worth the walk, highly recommend you download the app which has a narrative as you go.
If your time is short, at least tour the Capital Complex.
Beautiful architecture, some very well maintained buildings, some needing some attention.
