Recently NGT 2019 banned use of RO in places where TDS levels are lower than 500.

Surface water and groundwater

Sewage. Not treated. Directly allowed to mix into water bodies.

Factory chemical wastes are directly delivered to water sources.

Agriculture pesticides.

Without proper treatment these water sources are unsafe for consumption.

Low TDS does not rule out chemical contamination. So we need to test the water in the labs for chemicals.
