Aaron Pryor v Bobby Joe Young - Pryor's comeback fight Boxing
Please excuse the quality..this is a hard fight to find in decent quality as a quick YT search will prove. I tried to upgrade the quality over the years without success.

There's no doubt Pryor was a great fighter, there were even accusations that Leonard was ducking him. My view is that Leonard would have beaten Pryor. He was great, but not Leonard great. His battles with Dujuan Johnson ( The Ring's fight of the year runner up) and Arguello 1 and 2 are stuff of legend.
There was a cloud hanging over him with the Panama Lewis "mixed bottle" incident in the first fight with Arguello. Lewis was a vey questionable character as subsequent incidents and revelations with Luis Resto and the glove tampering claims in the Billy Collins fight would attest to.
We may never know if Pryor did have some "extra help" that day, but it was a super human effort. We know Arguello could punch, he caught Pryor flush a few times in the fight, but they just seemed to bounce off Pryor. I personally would like to think the fight was above board because I liked Pryor.

This fight with Bobby Joe young saw a less than 100% Pryor after almost a two and a half year lay off with drug addiction and personal issues. He showed glimpses of the former great, but he didn't have the fitness or the legs he use to. Yes some of the old pryor moves were still there.. and he had retained at least some of the speed he had during his heyday. No spoilers with this one, I will leave you to watch it. Pryor did have a further three fights winning them all by KO. He would retire in 1990.
There will never be another Arron Pryor,... regardless of what your opinion of him was. He was a one off.
