Holding deer on a small parcel is probably one of the most challenging things to accomplish in the deer woods. In this video I go over the things I work to keep bucks on a small property.

Soaking seeds for better germination
This only works with the larger seeds like pea and bean seeds. Once you've measured out how many seeds you need for your size of foodplot, put them in these mesh bag https://amzn.to/3W1cxp2 and throw a clean rock in with them to make them less buoyant. Tie the bag and soak them in a container like a 5 gallon bucket (depending on the amount of seed you're using) for 8-12 hours. They will swell up during this time so leave some extra room in the bag when you tie it. This should force the seeds to germinate within 1-3 days. Be careful with these soaked seeds as not to damage them. They are simply ready for throw and grow at this point. I would not run over them with something like a cultipacker or lawn roller so this method won't work if you're using a summer cover crop. Good luck!
