I bought a new GE refrigerator that came with an original water filter.
I checked what filter I should buy to have a replacement before it is fully utilized. To my surprise, the XWFE was $55 and I kept seeing a lot of generic XWF ones for $10-$15. Then I realized it was all based on the RFID tag that the XWFE filter has. BUT if you fool the refrigerator with the original RFID you can use XWF filter for a fifth of the price.

The refrigerator on this video is a GSE25GYPFCFS and the serial number starts with TV, which means it was manufactured on October 2023.
