SPOILERS AHEAD!
Body horror has existed for many years now. The portrayal of queer-like characters has for a long time had problematic depictions in horror media. Although it may be a stretch to fully claim the Lustrous as queer, through the politics of subtitles, depictions of body-dysphoria, and the hinting of Lustrous love, it is without a doubt to me the Lustrous are queer-like. Does this depiction of queer-like characters finally build change to the genre as a whole? Or is it more or less the same problems with a different skin? Let me know below!
