On 11-20-2018 Gary came from Utah for a tandem lesson. His family came along for moral support. He had wanted to learn to hang glide for a long time. At Blossom Valley, we launched into a thermal. I did not circle because I didn't want to make him sick. As we made ridge-soaring passes, I soon realized we would not get up unless I used that thermal. We started circling and made a nice climb. Gary was ready to head out by then, so we flew west. I didn't quite get the glider stopped on landing. Thanks to YouTube for the nice music.
