Stand Up is a song about standing up against the demons that are constantly fighting you, whether that’s relationship troubles, addiction, trouble with loved ones or even yourself. The song is written in a way where the main vocals represent your thoughts and feelings fighting against your demons. Your demons, represented by the harmony vocals, are their thoughts and feelings fighting you back. There is a consistent vocal battle between you and your demons in the song as both are singing about the same thing but trying to bring the other down. We ultimately have the last word in the song though representing that we can all overcome our demons with some fight.
