Jyoti Prakas presents a Tabla Solo accompanied by Kaavya Valiveti on Harmonium

Jyoti Prakas
Shri Jyoti Prakas began his musical journey with his father Sri Nagendranath and then with Sri sumantra Guha and presently became a disciple of Pandit Abhijit Banerjee, one of the renowned Tabla artists from India. Jyoti Prakas has performed with acclaimed Maestros such as Padma Vibhushan Pt. Girija Devi(vocal), Padma Vibhushan Pt. Jasraj(vocal), Sangeet-Acharya TSR Krishnan(vocal), Pt. Karthik Sheshadri(sitar), PadmaSri Ustaad Shahid Parvez Khan (sitar), Pt. Tarun Bhattacharya (santoor), National Heritage Fellow Pt. Chitresh Das(Kathak) and famous Hollywood personality Jason Samuel Smith( tap-dancer). Jyoti also played Tabla in the prestigious Emmy Award 2005-Ceremony. Jyoti has been teaching since 2004 through his DHWANI Academy of Percussion Music in several cities in southern California.

Kaavya Valiveti
Kaavya Valiveti received her initial music training in Carnatic music from her mother and in western classical music from various teachers, and for the past ten years has been a disciple of harmonium maestro Pt. Dr. Ravindra Katoti of Bengaluru. She has given solo performances, has been a part of jugalbandis, and has accompanied several vocalists, tabla artists, and kathak dancers.
