John Wayne enjoyed working with Lauren Bacall in BLOOD ALLEY ('55) so much that he requested she star in THE SHOOTIST ('76) as his leading lady, Bond Rogers. Bacall's character was named Bond in honor of Wayne's late best friend, Ward Bond, who passed away in 1960. 💔🤠
