September 30, 2024, Video of the 3rd Asakusa Awaodori held in Asakusa. Despite the light drizzle, the streets were packed with spectators. About half were foreign tourists, and the person next to me was researching Awaodori on ChatGPT while watching and cheering for the dancers.

I usually film with a Sony camera, but this time I used a DJI action camera for various reasons. The result feels a bit different from my usual style, but I believe it captures the live atmosphere well, so I hope you watch it till the end.

Awaodori is one of Japan’s most famous traditional performing arts with over 430 years of history. "Awa" in Awaodori comes from the old Awa Province during the Tokugawa era in Tokushima Prefecture. The Awaodori held in Tokushima City from August 12 to 15 each year attracts over 1.3 million tourists, turning the city into a frenzy of excitement.
