Gaziantep is a world-class place for food and is known as the food capital of Turkey. We visited Yesemek restaurant which is highly rated on Trip Advisor, and had a variety of local Gaziantep dishes including Beyran (a spicy Turkish meat soup) and kibbeh (içli kofte). We had Ottoman coffee in a caravansary and carrot baklava in Tahmis Kahvesi. We also tried katmer which is a traditional Gaziantep dessert made with pistachio and filo pastry, as well as delicious Ali Nazik kebab.
