🇰🇪 Kumbukumbu Tours:   /    Â
As I continued exploring the area three hours north of Mombasa, we stopped at a local market on our way to Pirates Beach to explore the city’s outstanding street food scene. Join me and let’s close out Mombasa with a bang!
Joining me on this market street food tour are my guides from Kumbukumbu Tours and my good friend and cameraman, Tasos.

STREET MARKET #1: At the first market we visited, we saw vendors selling lots of secondhand clothing. We tried a lentil samosa with a spicy tamarind vinaigrette, a potato fritter called viazi, and a donut-like sweet called mithai. I als had a fried fish called una (mackerel), bought some Maasai-made sandals, and tried a strawberry popsicle.
STREET MARKET #2: At our second market of the day, I tried a sweet cake that’s usually called mandazi.
MOMBASA: Back in Mombasa, we headed to Damascus Shawarma for some chicken shawarma. Then, I visited a local ice cream shop for a creamy and refreshing falooda to end my time in Mombasa!
